Meta announced today, Monday, that it will temporarily close the social media platform Threads in Turkey starting April 29, in compliance with a temporary order from the Turkish Competition Authority. The company stated in a post that "there will be no impact on other social media platforms and services it owns, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in Turkey." Last month, the Turkish Competition Authority imposed a temporary measure on Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to prevent data sharing between Instagram and Threads while investigating the potential abuse of the company's dominant market position.
