Cooperation Between Dubai and the United Nations to Address Disaster Risks

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Abdullah Al Marri, affirmed the commitment of the Dubai Police to bridge communication and exchange knowledge, expertise, and best practices across various specialized fields with all local and international entities. He emphasized the necessity of collaboration to face the challenges and risks posed by climate change and the new directions it imposes on cities and governments, which require flexibility and resilience, as well as the enhancement of infrastructure and essential services through innovative technological solutions. This was mentioned during his meeting with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction, Mami Mizutori, and her accompanying delegation, at the headquarters of Dubai Police. For her part, Mizutori confirmed the UN's commitment to building and strengthening cooperation ties with various government entities in the country, aiming to provide a distinguished partnership in joint working areas to develop and enhance the partnership relationship across various fields in a way that achieves the strategic goals of both parties.
