A high-ranking Egyptian source indicated today, Friday, that "communications between Egypt and Israel regarding the ceasefire are limited to security delegations only, and there is no truth to the media reports regarding planned meetings between Egyptian officials and Israelis." The source confirmed that "Egyptian communications are with all parties, aiming to reach a ceasefire and stop the war, as well as end the suffering experienced by the Palestinian people." The source noted that "Egypt has repeatedly warned of the serious consequences if Israel decides to storm the Palestinian Rafah." An Israeli official stated yesterday, Thursday, that "the war cabinet has authorized the negotiating team to hold talks with the Egyptian delegation, which will arrive in Israel today, with the aim of reaching an agreement for the release of hostages."
