Leaders of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq Fear Drones and Infiltrators

A senior leader in the Popular Mobilization Forces revealed today, Sunday, that faction leaders are beginning to take "strict" precautionary measures out of fear of U.S. strikes. The leader, who requested anonymity, stated that "the faction leaders and the Popular Mobilization Forces in general have increased their precautionary security measures after the recurrence of operations to assassinate field leaders by the United States. These measures include their movements, as well as their living and meeting areas."

He added that "most leaders of the factions and the Popular Mobilization Forces have started to use outdated mobile phones, which are kept off most of the time to prevent any tracking operations, in addition to precautionary measures that prevent any tracking through the use of technology and modern devices, along with frequently changing their security personnel."

Earlier, a knowledgeable source revealed that the incident involving "Abu Baqir al-Saadi" is under intensive investigation to determine how he was tracked, in addition to instructions for Iranian security leaders to "reduce" their visits to Iraq. This comes after the targeting of Abu Baqir al-Saadi and before that, a military official in the al-Nujaba Movement, when his vehicle was targeted in Palestine Street last January.
