Sources from "Al Arabiya" reported that Saudi Arabia will host a six-party Arab meeting on Sunday to discuss ending the war in Gaza. The meeting is expected to address the provision of aid and the next phase for establishing a Palestinian state. Last month, foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, along with the Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, emphasized the need to end the war on the Gaza Strip during a similar meeting held in Riyadh. They called for an immediate and complete ceasefire, ensuring the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law, and lifting all restrictions hindering the entry of humanitarian aid to the region.
In a statement released this Friday morning, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, along with the foreign ministers of Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Egypt, and Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hussein al-Sheikh expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and urged all its supporters to fulfill their humanitarian obligations toward Palestinian refugees. The ministers emphasized the importance of taking irreversible steps to implement a two-state solution and recognizing the State of Palestine within 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions. They affirmed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and rejected all forms of forced displacement.
The Saudi foreign minister had called for a consultative meeting on Thursday in Riyadh with the foreign ministers from Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, and a representative from the State of Palestine to discuss developments in the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" on Friday.
