Saudi Arabia Supports African Union's Membership in the G20

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its support for the African Union's permanent membership in the G20. In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry expressed its anticipation for the acceptance of the African Union's membership, highlighting its importance in addressing global challenges such as climate change, economic slowdown, debt distress, and the uneven recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, which require collective action within a framework of cooperation and mutual trust between the Kingdom and African Union countries. The Ministry also noted that the Kingdom looks forward to further enhancing relations with the African Union to serve mutual interests effectively.
