He also urged the "Security Council to immediately release 2.3 million people from the Israeli-American blockade, which has become a lethal weapon and has turned Gaza into the largest prison where collective criminal punishment is exercised." The UN Security Council had demanded on Wednesday that the Houthis in Yemen cease immediate attacks on ships in the Red Sea, implicitly supporting a task force led by the United States to protect vessels while warning of escalating tensions.
