The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "As part of the efforts by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest perpetrators of various types of crimes, information was obtained by the Beirut Judicial Detachment within the Judicial Police Unit regarding an individual, in collaboration with others (ongoing efforts to apprehend them), who lured several girls to hotels after getting to know them either through social media or other means. He then raped them, filmed them, robbed them of their money and jewelry at gunpoint, and blackmailed them."
As a result of investigations and inquiries conducted by the team, "one patrol was able to arrest the suspect on July 26, 2023, in the Ain el-Mreisse area. It was found that his name is Y. A. (born in 1989, Lebanese), and he has previous offenses of the same nature. Four girls who fell victim to his actions identified him and expressed their desire to file charges against him."
The General Directorate circulated his photo, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, and "requests that any of those who fell victim to his actions and recognized him come to the Beirut Judicial Detachment or call the number: 810170-01, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures."
