Israeli Report Reveals

Israeli Channel N12 reported, citing a source in an Arab country, that "Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, is suffering from a complicated case of pneumonia, and his health condition is deteriorating." The source in the concerned country stated that they heard the report from high-ranking officials in Hamas. According to N12's report, the country was in contact with the movement and requested that "Hamas" move towards a ceasefire, noting that "Hamas later responded that its situation is serious, that it lacks ammunition, and that its military structures are deteriorating."

A few days ago, reports stated that the leadership of "Hamas" in Qatar and Gaza was unsure of Sinwar's whereabouts, and that Sinwar might have fled from Gaza to Egypt via underground tunnels. Later, "Kan News" reported that Sinwar has resumed communications with the leadership of Hamas abroad. Speculation about Sinwar's fate comes amid a statement from Defense Minister Yoav Gallant that Hamas is looking for a replacement for Sinwar.

Last week, the Israeli army released footage from inside a tunnel where it was claimed that Sinwar had recently been hiding with his family. The Israeli army did not provide information to confirm its claim that Sinwar spent some time in the tunnel complex.
