Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer Leverkusen, has set his sights on one of Real Madrid's players to strengthen the Bundesliga champions' defense for the upcoming season. Alonso led Bayer Leverkusen to win the German league title this season and has decided to continue with the team next season, despite offers from Bayern Munich and Liverpool. According to the German newspaper "Bild," the player in question is Rafa Marin (21 years old), who is currently on loan from Real Madrid to Deportivo Alaves.
The newspaper added that Rafa Marin is highly regarded by Xabi Alonso, who needs to bolster his team's defense next season, as Josip Stanisic will return to Bayern after his loan, while Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié may leave this summer. Rafa Marin has had a good season at Alaves and is expected to return to Real Madrid this summer. However, if Bayer Leverkusen makes a move, the young player could join a team that will compete in the Champions League next season, offering him more playing opportunities than at Real Madrid.
