Adam Goldstein, the CEO of Archer Aviation, revealed that the agreement signed with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office will expedite the launch of commercial air taxi flights across the UAE by the end of 2025. Goldstein mentioned to WAM that "the agreement covers several different areas, as it will also contribute to manufacturing aircraft within the UAE and establishing helicopter landing pads for air taxis in the country."
He explained that the company will work on preparing reports regarding takeoff and landing locations and building a complete ecosystem to turn this vision into reality in the near future. He highlighted that "the investment size in the project exceeds hundreds of millions of dollars, covering various fields," emphasizing "the importance of the project and the agreement signed with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, as it enhances the capital's position as a global center for civil aerial mobility."
Goldstein noted that "the company is working on building electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to be used in urban air transportation tasks," indicating that "the company aims to replace car trips that take 60 to 90 minutes with air taxi rides lasting 10 to 20 minutes, which are characterized by being safe, sustainable, low-noise, and cost-competitive with ground transportation."
