Saudi Interior Minister: The Security Campaign Against Drugs Achieves Tangible Results

Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud praised the significant efforts of security personnel in combating drugs, recognizing their role in safeguarding the nation and protecting it from the dangers of drug addiction. While overseeing the operations from the central operations room at the ministry, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud stated that the campaign, supported and guided by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is achieving tangible results. He emphasized that it is still in its early stages and that strong measures against drug dealers and traffickers continue, and will remain resolute in preventing them from targeting our youth or endangering security in any form.

On the same day, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Northern Borders Region, launched an initiative aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and prevention methods under the slogan "A Nation Without Drugs," at the Northern Tower Medical Center.

The Emir of the Northern Borders noted the leadership’s commitment to national security and protecting youth from the drug menace, commending the initiative's goals and its contributions to supporting the General Directorate for Drug Control's efforts to eliminate this dangerous issue and safeguard community members from its impacts. He emphasized the importance of doubling awareness programs and continuously coordinating with relevant authorities to educate and train the youth, who are the most vulnerable to drug addiction, through educational and awareness programs on how to seek treatment, properly interact with users, recognize signs of addiction, and create effective government integration to combat the drug crisis.

For his part, the Director of Health Affairs in the region, Alwan Al-Shammrani, highlighted the importance of the initiative in enhancing cooperation in drug control with governmental and private sectors, as well as keeping pace with legal frameworks regarding the repercussions of drug addiction.
