Unprecedented Flooding in Yemen's Capital (Video)

Heavy rains fell on Yemen's capital, Sana'a, last night, leading to unprecedented flooding, according to Yemeni media reports. Traffic was disrupted due to the large flows of water in the streets, tunnels, and major intersections.

The Meteorological Center and Early Warning Agency had predicted varying intensities of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the governorates of (Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Sana'a, Raymah, Marib), and scattered rain in parts of (Amran, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Dhali, Al-Bayda, Al-Jawf, and the highlands adjacent to the Tihama plain).

The center warned citizens in the areas expecting rainfall to take precautions and avoid being in flood paths and valleys during and after the rainfall. Drivers on mountainous roads were also cautioned about reduced visibility due to fog or mist formation.
