Can Trump End the Ukraine War in 24 Hours? Zelensky Expresses Concern

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has launched an attack for the first time on former U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing his deep concern over Trump's statements suggesting he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine within a day if he returns to the White House. Zelensky noted in an interview with British Channel 4 on Saturday that Trump's remark is "extremely dangerous" due to its ambiguity regarding how to stop the war and what the scenario would be post-war.

During the conversation, the Ukrainian president invited Trump to visit Ukraine, stating, "Please, Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv. If you can stop the war within 24 hours, I think that would be a sufficient reason to come." He added, "Perhaps Trump already has a real idea that he could share with me."

Zelensky speculated that Trump's statements about stopping the war in 24 hours could be just an "election campaign" or what he termed a "political message," but he asserted that the idea of Trump, as president, making unilateral decisions that do not serve Ukraine or its people makes him "feel very tense."
