Tomorrow, Friday, the final of the International Polo Championship will take place between the Ghantoot Polo and Abu Dhabi Polo teams, at the Sheikh Zayed main ground in the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club. The tournament is sponsored by Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the club's president, and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
Abu Dhabi Polo team qualified after defeating the Emirates Polo team 9 - 5 yesterday, following a strong match where they exchanged advantages throughout the chukkas until the Abu Dhabi team secured the win in the fifth chukka. In the second match, the Habtoor Polo team won against the Ghantoot Polo team 11 - 2; however, this was not enough to grant them a chance to reach the final, as Ghantoot Polo team had already secured qualification with two wins in the preliminary round against Abu Dhabi Polo and Emirates Polo teams.
Khaled Saeed Al Marzouqi, the managing director and CEO of Ghantoot Club and head of the organizing committee for the tournament, confirmed that the championship succeeded both technically and organizationally, achieving all its goals. He noted that "the organizing committee has prepared well to ensure a successful closing ceremony, which includes many activities and prizes for the audience after a busy season of community and charity sports championships, aiming to promote this sport in the community and to produce champions who can represent the country in international events."
