Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated on Saturday his call for Western countries to supply his country with more air defense systems, as Kyiv reported the deaths of seven people due to Russian shelling, mostly in the southern city of Odesa. Regional authorities stated that the attacks targeting Odesa, which overlooks the Black Sea, resulted in the death of five people, including a child, and the destruction of a nine-story building. Eight people were also injured, including a child, according to new figures announced by Ukrainian emergency services. At the same time, strikes resulted in the death of a 76-year-old man in the Kharkiv region near the Russian border, and another man in the Kherson region, according to regional authorities. Zelensky condemned Moscow's continued "bombing of civilians" via social media platforms after days marking the third year since the Russian invasion of his country. He added, "We need more air defense systems from our partners. We must strengthen Ukraine's air shield to better protect our people from the Russians. More air defense systems and missiles for air defense save the lives of Ukrainians."
