Despite discussions about Israel agreeing to resume negotiations with Hamas through a tri-partite mediation involving Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, it continued its aggression yesterday against Palestinians in Gaza and Rafah. In southern Lebanon, Israeli warplanes targeted 10 sites belonging to Hezbollah simultaneously; however, Hezbollah's response was immediate, targeting gatherings of Israeli soldiers along the Blue Line, resulting in direct casualties among them. In this context, security sources noted the new tactic the enemy has begun using, which involves striking Hezbollah positions all at once and at a specific time. They pointed out to "Al-Anbaa" that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet are planning for a prolonged war with Hamas and Hezbollah that could last several months. The sources indicated that the protests that erupted against Netanyahu in Israeli cities, demanding the resignation of the government, make it unlikely for them to agree to a ceasefire, as agreeing to halt the war before the release of prisoners could negatively impact the government, particularly the hardliners and extremists within it, including the Prime Minister and his Defense Minister. This could potentially lead to the resignation of the government and early parliamentary elections to change the political landscape.
