Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bouhabib, met with the Arab ambassadors accredited in Lebanon to discuss the situations and regional developments in Gaza and the area. The ambassadors from Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, Oman, Algeria, Kuwait, Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, and the chargé d'affaires of the Syrian embassy attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Bouhabib confirmed that there was a consensus on the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of aid, rejecting displacement and resettlement in another country, and emphasizing that ending the Israeli occupation and establishing the Palestinian state is the solution.
Bouhabib also noted to the Arab ambassadors that he sensed "Arab cohesion" in addressing the aggression against Gaza during the ministerial meeting held yesterday in Jeddah, stressing the need to leverage this to persuade Western countries to pressure Israel to stop this senseless war and unjust blockade. He emphasized that "the just and comprehensive solution to the conflict starts first, second, and finally with the Palestinians."
In a related context, Minister Bouhabib informed Portuguese Foreign Minister "João Cravinho" during a phone call on Thursday evening of the necessity for assistance and pressure on Israel to halt fire and provocations, lift the blockade on Gaza, allow humanitarian aid including food and medicine, and respect international law and the law of war.
