Napoli's hopes of finishing in the top four of Serie A took a significant hit on Sunday with a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Frosinone. Napoli now sits in eighth place with 49 points, trailing Bologna, currently in fourth, by ten points with six matches remaining in the season. Frosinone occupies the 18th position, the first relegation spot, with 27 points.
The home side applied strong pressure on Frosinone's goal and opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Matteo Politano scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Five minutes into the second half, Frosinone equalized through Moroccan Walid Cheddira, who slotted the ball into an empty net after Napoli's goalkeeper Alex Meret couldn't clear a shot from Matthias Soulé.
Napoli regained the lead in the 63rd minute when Victor Osimhen redirected a shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia near the goal line. However, Cheddira scored his second goal with a header in the 73rd minute, ensuring both teams shared the points from the match.
