The website for the Greek Communist Party, 902.gr, reported that party members and their youth organization stopped a train carrying American tanks from the port of Alexandroupolis to Bulgaria and forced it to turn back. The website stated: "Members of the Greek Communist Party and its youth organization blocked the road in front of the train at the Alexandroupolis railway station. They stood in front of the train holding banners and flags, forcing it to stop. They demanded that it be sent back and called for the removal of the killers from the U.S. and NATO forces from Alexandroupolis and the entire region." According to the site, the action was successful, and the train had to return to its starting point. The protesters chanted national slogans such as "When the people do not bow, even trains go back," and demanded an end to Greece's participation in the wars of the United States, NATO, and the European Union. The communists declared that Alexandroupolis is a port for the people, condemning the transformation of the city into a major NATO base. The protesters also condemned the Greek government for "sending necessary weapons systems for the defense of the country to the reactionary regime of Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine."
