Former U.S. President Donald Trump has left Fulton County Jail in Georgia after being released on bail. Trump's plane landed at Atlanta Airport in Georgia in preparation for his surrender at Fulton Jail, accompanied by his new lawyer, Stephen Sadow. This follows charges made against him by the state regarding the manipulation of the 2020 presidential election results.
Afterwards, Trump headed to his motorcade, which traveled on the highway towards Fulton Jail, as global media aired these images live amid security measures taken by state police and the Secret Service, who provide lifelong protection for all U.S. presidents.
A large number of citizens lined the route, especially in front of the jail entrance, to watch the former president's motorcade enter Fulton.
Upon arrival at the jail, his fingerprints were taken, and "mug shots" were captured, and he was assigned inmate number PO1135809. He then left Fulton Jail after being released on bail. The judiciary has charged him, along with 18 others, with "extortion" and committing several crimes in an effort to overturn the election results. This could pave the way for a fourth criminal trial next year, marking a historic precedent in American political life. This comes as Trump is campaigning for a return to the White House. Trump surrendered to Fulton County Jail following negotiations with the county's district attorney, Fani Willis, which ended in an agreement requiring him to pay $200,000 and surrender by the deadline of today, Friday.
