Jordanian Plane Conducts Airdrop of Aid in Gaza's Zeitoun Neighborhood

A Jordanian plane carried out an airdrop of aid today, Sunday, in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza. The Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported that "Under royal directives, the Jordanian armed forces - Arab Army executed an airdrop this evening to assist those trapped inside the St. Porphyrius Church, located in the Zeitoun area of northern Gaza, on the eve of Christmas."

The number of trapped citizens in the church is estimated at around 800 Gazans from the Christian community residing in the area, who are facing food shortages and severe shortages of essential life supplies amidst difficult humanitarian conditions.

The source added that aid boxes were dropped by parachutes onto the church, which serves as a safe haven for Christians and their children as they remain besieged by Israeli forces. This Jordanian airdrop marks the seventh such operation, serving as a "message of solidarity with our Christian brothers in the area during the ongoing fierce Israeli war, which has cast a shadow over the Christmas celebrations."

His Majesty the King confirmed during a meeting with Jerusalem and Jordanian religious leaders at the Husseiniya Palace last Wednesday that Jordan is striving in every way to deliver aid to those who sought refuge in the church.
