The Spanish newspaper "Marca" revealed a heavy surprise regarding the French striker Karim Benzema's desire to leave Al-Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia during this current period. The report stated, "Six months have been enough for Benzema to realize that the Saudi league is not the best place for him and his mentality. Regardless of all the problems he faced during his recent vacation, he wants to leave and is seeking a return to Europe."
The report highlighted that Benzema's agents are searching for a suitable place for him, although they know he will not receive even 10% of his current salary from Al-Ittihad, and the Saudi club will not agree to let him leave for free. "Marca" also noted that the doors of Real Madrid are closed for Benzema, similar to what happened with other former stars who left the ranks of the club, as there is no place for him in the management's plans.
Benzema has been linked with a departure from Al-Ittihad during the ongoing winter transfer period, particularly after he missed training sessions and skipped the team camp in Dubai, UAE.
In related news, French striker Karim Benzema's lawyer, Hugues Vigier, expressed that he would be very happy to see the player return to Olympique Lyonnais. Reports indicated Lyon's interest in reclaiming their former player Benzema this month, following reports about the striker's desire to leave Al-Ittihad after spending six months with the Saudi team.
Spanish newspaper "AS" quoted Vigier saying, "Benzema has gone through ups and downs in his sporting life, and this period may be less prosperous. He got injured during these days, left his team to travel, and was affected by the Mauritius cyclone. If you recall, he didn't play much when he first arrived at Real, and then he became a key player."
He added, "I should say I would be very happy to see him play again in Lyon. But I don't think that will happen. We will see what happens."
