Under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Ajman, Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, the Ministry of Culture, the Ajman Tourism Development Department, and the Aousha bint Hussein Cultural Center, in cooperation with MTG Events Management Company, announced the launch of the first Ajman International Folklore Festival, under the slogan "Ajman... Richness of History and Identity." This event will take place from April 19 to 21, as part of efforts to promote heritage and culture in the Emirate of Ajman.
This announcement was made during a press conference held by the Aousha bint Hussein Cultural Center in collaboration with the participating entities. The festival chairperson, Moza Ghabash, praised the efforts and cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and the Ajman Tourism Development Department in organizing this festival, which reflects the diversity and richness of Ajman’s cultural heritage. She noted that this qualitative event is a unique occasion that will significantly contribute to enhancing the awareness of youth about the importance of folklore and heritage in preserving the cultural and historical identity of communities.
Ghabash added that the festival provides a vibrant platform and gives youth the opportunity to discover and learn about their folklore through various artistic and traditional performances presented during the event. Moreover, the inclusion of regional and international heritage in the festival enhances cultural interaction among peoples and mutual understanding between different cultures and societies, elevating their understanding of the importance of diversity in enriching human civilization and promoting peace and tolerance among nations.
The festival includes a rich and comprehensive program, offering a diverse range of musical performances, folkloric shows, cultural evenings, workshops, as well as an art exhibition, an antique exhibition, traditional foods, traditional fashion shows, daily competitions, in addition to shopping stalls for shopping enthusiasts.
