The Iranian parliamentary leadership declared that a "decisive and proportional response" to Israel is a "national demand." The Iranian Supreme National Security Council held a meeting attended by the Iranian president following the "Israeli" strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. The secretariat of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council announced that "the council made appropriate decisions regarding the war crime related to the Israeli bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus," noting that "the council's decisions were made in a session attended by Raisi, which took place last night."
