Roma, competing in the Italian Serie A, announced today, Wednesday, that it has signed defender Ivan Ndika on a contract until 2028. Ndika, 23 years old, who decided to represent Ivory Coast at the international level after playing for youth teams in France, joins after his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt ended this summer.
Ndika, who has played 134 matches in the Bundesliga, said on his club's website, "I decided to come to Roma because of the project that was explained to me and the history and prestige of the club. It is a wonderful city that loves football." He added that he joined Eintracht in July 2018 with a five-year contract, "I can't wait to play in front of my new fans and give everything to achieve my goals with the team."
Roma continued its campaign on Twitter to find missing persons while announcing the new signings, a campaign the team started years ago. They posted a video of the player in the club's jersey during the medical examination, alongside images of missing persons whose whereabouts are still unknown.
Ndika is the second player to join Roma ahead of the new season, following the signing of Algerian Houssem Aouar after his contract with Olympique Lyon ended.
