The Maritime Agents Union in Lebanon announced that "a record has been set today at Beirut Port, exceeding 2400 containers designated for the market, including 1100 containers for import." The union indicated in a statement that "this achievement came as a result of the cooperation of all concerned parties, including the customs administration, port security, and the container terminal, as well as the administration and operation of Beirut Port, in line with the decision to extend operational hours exceptionally for three days after the delays caused by the malfunction of the electronic customs system which halted operations for two days at the beginning of the week."
