Latest News on Palestinian Journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh

Palestinian journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh, the director and correspondent for Al Jazeera in Gaza, has been awarded the international "Julio Anguita Parrado" journalism prize for work in conflict zones. This award is presented by the Andalusian journalists union in Cordoba, in memory of journalist Julio Anguita Parrado, who was killed while covering the U.S. war in Iraq. The award committee stated that this recognition aims to explicitly acknowledge journalists in Gaza, who suffer from severe violence due to the Israeli attacks. The honor was given in appreciation of Al-Dahdouh's dedication to his work and his determination to continue covering the genocide, despite repeated targeting by Israel against him and his family.

The Palestinian journalist recently visited Valencia, Spain, where he spoke at a conference on "Journalism and Freedom of Expression in Gaza," organized by the Dar Morocco Association in collaboration with the Palestinian community. During this visit, he also received the "Freedom of Expression Award for 2024." The Dar Morocco Association expressed its happiness and appreciation for hosting Wael Al-Dahdouh in Valencia and his participation in the conference, where he highlighted the tragic situation faced by his peers in Gaza, in addition to the significant challenges Palestinian journalists encounter while covering the aggression against the region.
