Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Minister of Justice Omar Marwan to follow up on the latest developments in the construction of a Justice City in the New Administrative Capital, which spans an area of 51 acres. Presidential spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy stated that the president was briefed during the meeting on the procedures to activate the National Alliance for Civil Work Law and the ongoing efforts to establish coordination mechanisms under this law, aimed at deepening the concept of volunteering in civil work and promoting humanitarian and societal values, as well as mobilizing national efforts for social and economic development and supporting the implementation of social development initiatives through coordination between state agencies and civil society.
The meeting also addressed the execution status of the Justice City project in the New Administrative Capital, as part of comprehensive efforts to develop and modernize the judiciary system. The president emphasized the need to continue intensive efforts for development and improvement to ensure the achievement of swift justice, stressing the importance of applying the law with integrity, fairness, and equality, reaffirming the rule of law for all without discrimination, and protecting the rights of citizens and the community.
The establishment of the Justice City in the capital is part of Egypt's current developmental strategy. The transfer to the New Administrative Capital through the construction of the Justice City will ensure that each judicial body has its own area and building, equipped with advanced digital and technological infrastructure as well as efforts to achieve digital transformation and enhance digital skills and capabilities. This will significantly reduce the need for human resources and assist in saving time and effort. Additionally, an Academy for Judges will be established to adequately prepare judges for their judicial roles, and individuals working in the Justice City will have the opportunity to apply for housing units provided by the state for employees in the state's administrative apparatus.
