Heavy Rain and Floods in the UAE: Warning from the Interior Ministry

The UAE has experienced a state of unstable weather accompanied by heavy rainfall in several areas including Dubai and Al Ain. The National Center of Meteorology has forecast potential flooding in the country due to thunderstorms.

Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior stated: "Due to the exposure of several regions in the country to fluctuations in weather conditions accompanied by heavy rains and winds, please exercise caution while driving and avoid valleys and areas of water flow and accumulation."

In light of the preparations to address the impacts of the weather conditions, the Emirates School Education Foundation announced the transition from in-person classes to remote learning yesterday and today, due to the current exceptional weather conditions.

The National Center of Meteorology reported that "cumulus clouds continue to form over coastal and inland areas, bringing rainfall along with lightning and thunder at times, continuing until this afternoon," noting that "the weather situation begins in the western regions and moves towards Abu Dhabi and the northern and eastern regions, where the amounts of cumulonimbus clouds accompanied by varying intensity rainfall, lightning, and thunder will increase, with the possibility of hail in some areas."
