Opinions are divided regarding a demand from two Israeli rappers for the killing of singer Dua Lipa alongside model Bella Hadid in their chart-topping song, which has become the unofficial soundtrack of the Israeli war on Gaza. This song, which encourages Israeli soldiers to carry their weapons for more fighting, has sparked controversy both inside and outside of Israel, according to The Times.
In a record store in a part of Tel Aviv, the mention of the song was met with significant disdain. Liam Youssef, a 22-year-old vinyl collector, expressed, "I completely hate that song... I hoped it would disappear... but I knew it would hit and be successful... it's embarrassing." He added, "I lost my friends on October 7, but that song is terrible."
Another young man complained that the violent backlash against the song "Sharbo Darbo" led to him receiving death threats. Speaking anonymously, he stated, "They made us a group of Jewish fascists who want to kill Arabs... this song boosts the morale for killing and encourages crimes."
The duo known as Ness Ve Stilla (real names Nesia Levi and Dor Soroker) had their song viewed nearly 5 million times on YouTube within two weeks. Titled "Sharbo Darbo," which means "with swords and blows" in Hebrew, the song is a call for the Israeli army to crush Gaza, as reported by timesofisrael.
The song calls on well-known military units such as Golani and Givati to attack Gaza and to write the names of the Israeli casualties from the October 7 attack on the bombs used to shell the area. It also calls for the killing of both Bella Hadid and singer Dua Lipa for their support of Palestinians shortly after the war in Gaza began.
