Israeli government spokesman Ofir Gendelman stated today, Tuesday, that Gaza can be turned into a paradise but "only after rooting out the terrorist organizations from it." He warned that "Beirut will face the fate of Gaza if Hezbollah decides to go to war." Gendelman emphasized that "aid will only enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing and not from Israel," addressing Hamas fighters with the words: "You have two options: either surrender or death." He claimed that "Hamas continues to loot aid meant for the residents of the sector under the threat of weapons," addressing the people of Gaza and saying: "If Hamas had not waged war, nothing would have happened in Gaza; all your suffering is due to Hamas."
He continued: "On the northern front, Hezbollah continues to escalate by launching rockets, some of which were fired from a distance of 20 meters from a location belonging to UNIFIL, deliberately endangering the lives of UNIFIL soldiers," warning that "Beirut will face the same fate as Gaza if Hezbollah decides to wage war on us." He added: "Many Lebanese do not want war, and we will do everything necessary to protect our citizens," stressing that "we will not accept the presence of a terrorist army on our borders, neither to the north nor to the south." He noted that "the release of hostages will shorten the duration of the war, and without it, it will continue for as long as necessary to eliminate the terrorist organizations."
