Le Monde Reveals Drug Victim Statistics in France

The French newspaper "Le Monde" reported that those injured or killed during drug-related disputes who are under 25 years old in France during 2023 comprised about 60 percent. The report indicated that this phenomenon has been increasingly noticeable, with the average age of individuals involved in drug trafficking being 22 years old in France.

An unprecedented report on drug victims, established a demographic pyramid based on information from regional intelligence regarding drug victims in France since January 1 of this year, indicated that "73 people have been affected, including nine individuals under the age of 18, 35 individuals between 18 and 25 years old, and 29 individuals over 25 years old."

Furthermore, the annual study released by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction concluded that "the consumption of illegal substances and drugs poses a concern for people's health and safety in the European continent," highlighting "the spread of new types of drugs and the increase in violence associated with this consumption."
