Lebanese artist Maya Hariri faced a tragic incident when a fire broke out in her home in London, prompting her to send an SOS message to the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, Turki Al Sheikh, expressing her suffering. Maya wrote on her official Instagram account: "Life has taken an extremely unfortunate and unexpected turn; in the picture, my home in London is burning, and everything I own has turned to ashes, while my daughter is no longer the same. My country will never be a substitute for both of us."
She continued addressing Turki Al Sheikh: "Dear, I am in the worst circumstances I could ever face. I am a single mother and have been unemployed for over five years. I have turned to you because I believe in your ability to help me in any way possible regarding my professional life."
Maya emphasized that she set her pride aside: "Just to stand on my feet again and give my beautiful daughter what she deserves for a long time. I set my pride aside and swallowed my ego because I have a daughter for whom I want to achieve the best in this world, and seeing her this way makes me feel broken. I hope you understand me as everyone who knows me does."
Maya concluded her message saying: "You are generous people and will not let me suffer more than the situation I am currently in."
**Criticism**
Maya Hariri faced harsh criticism on social media after her plea for help. The artist expressed her astonishment, stating: "Al Sheikh possesses many good qualities that prevent him from disappointing a woman who sought his help to save her professional life and secure a livelihood for her and her daughter."
Maya clarified that what she posted on social media served as a résumé she used to seek a new job opportunity, commenting: "Abu Nasser is the only person who can help me, and I feel that some envy me for the initiative I made. Those who criticized my actions are envious." She added: "If it weren't for the artistic activities organized by Turki Al Sheikh in Saudi Arabia, many artists would have gone hungry."
