"Wardena" Surveys Opinions of Some MPs on the French Invitation

While most political forces awaited the return of French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian on his third visit to Beirut, the Parliament received a paper with questions to be answered, aimed at facilitating dialogue among Lebanese parties. This raised many questions, especially since some opposition blocs and figures had previously stated that they no longer see any usefulness in dialogue with "Hezbollah" and its allies.

The message signed by Le Drian indicated that "given the urgent need to exit the current political deadlock, which exposes your country’s future to numerous risks, I proposed to call for a meeting in September aimed at articulating a consensus on the challenges the future President of the Republic will face and the priority projects he must undertake, and consequently, the necessary specifications for that."

### Positions of Some MPs

The "Wardena" site surveyed the opinions of some MPs who attended today’s legislative session to learn their responses regarding the French invitation.

Member of the "Loyalty and Resistance" bloc, MP Hussein Haj Hassan, affirmed that they are open to dialogue, stating: "Everyone has specific proposals and ideas, and therefore we have not been able to agree or reach a result so far, thus dialogue is the primary outlet."

Hussein Haj Hassan commented on the French message for "Wardena": "We are open to dialogue."

For his part, MP Tony Frangieh announced that he would respond to any call for dialogue, considering the French message a serious attempt. He said, "We have received the questions, and the answers are available to us; we have a complete vision for the next phase, and based on that, we will respond to the message."

MP Ni'mat Afram announced the participation of the "New Lebanon" bloc and the "National Moderation" bloc "principally" in the meeting called by French envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian. Ni'mat Afram told "Wardena": "The blocs 'New Lebanon' and 'National Moderation' will participate principally in the meeting called by Le Drian."

For his part, MP Firas Hamdan indicated that "there will be a discussion among the reformist MPs, and as a result, a position will be issued regarding the meeting."
