The Russian Foreign Ministry stated today, Wednesday, that "the Russian side will continue to enhance the protection of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Enerhodar, preventing attempts by the Kyiv regime and its sponsors from encroaching on it." The ministry added in a statement: "In the current circumstances, we will continue to strengthen the protection of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Enerhodar in a manner that prevents the Kyiv regime and its sponsors represented by the collective West from attacking it."
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that immediately after the plant returned to the "Russian nuclear family," its safety and efficient operation have been continuously threatened by the Kyiv authorities, who not only carry out provocations against the plant and its associated city of Enerhodar but also continue to terrorize the workers of this institution and their families. The ministry highlighted that "the Russian side, considering the station's proximity to the military contact line, invited experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency to be present at the plant. The first group of them arrived there on September 1, 2022. Their main mission was to prevent the threats posed by the Kyiv regime to the safety and security of the plant."
