Movement of Hope mourns one of its founding leaders

The leadership body of the "Hope" Movement issued a statement mourning one of its founding leaders, member of the political bureau, educator Aatif Aoun. The statement of mourning said: "With great acceptance and submission, we mourn one of those good individuals who fought in the path of God until his last breath, for the sake of God, for the defense of Lebanon, its honor, and the dignity of humanity, no matter the sacrifices. We mourn our brother, the mujahid, member of the political bureau of the movement, educator Mr. Aatif Aoun." The statement added: "As the leadership body of the movement, at the moment we miss our brother mujahid Aatif Aoun, we pledge to the great departed to keep his idea, thought, approach, and example alive among us. With them, we will find clarity of vision and steadfastness on the path, and we will not stray. Our solace in this great loss is the words of Almighty God: 'Indeed, we belong to God and indeed, to Him we return'... alongside the martyrs and the righteous, and how excellent are those as companions."
