In Beni Suef Governorate, southern Egypt, a tragic incident occurred where a student from the Faculty of Engineering fell from her dormitory window, leading to her death. The event sparked significant outrage on social media due to the delay in rescuing the student and the absence of an ambulance to transport her immediately to the hospital, resulting in her prolonged bleeding and eventual death.
Authorities in Beni Suef received a report about the arrival of a corpse identified as "Shahd Nagy Abu Aish" at the specialized hospital. Investigations revealed that the student, who hailed from Sharqia Governorate in northern Egypt and was studying engineering, was hanging her clothes out of her dormitory window when she lost her balance and fell from the third floor, succumbing to her injuries before reaching the hospital.
The university's president, Dr. Mansour Hassan, stated that an investigation will be launched into the matter, noting that the university will facilitate the transfer of the body to her family in Zagazig and offer their condolences. He mentioned that the student lost her balance while hanging her clothes from the third floor, a point confirmed by her roommates in the student dormitory. The prosecution has been notified and has taken over the investigation.
