The US State Department announced today, Friday, that Washington will offer up to ten million dollars for information regarding five funders of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) or any information that leads to the disruption of funding mechanisms for the group. The department stated in a statement that the five wanted individuals are Abdul Basit Hamza Hassan Muhammad Khair, Amir Kamal Sharif Al-Shawa, Ahmad Sado Jahlab, Walid Muhammad Mustafa Jadallah, and Muhammad Ahmad Abdel Daim Nasr Allah, who have previously been designated by the United States as global terrorists.
The State Department added that the primary funder, known as Hamza, resides in Sudan and manages several companies in Hamas's investment portfolio, having participated in the transfer of approximately 20 million dollars to Hamas. The department noted that he has ties to former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and extremist groups that undermine stability in Sudan.
Furthermore, the department mentioned that three of the referenced Hamas funders—Amir Kamal Sharif Al-Shawa, Ahmad Sado Jahlab, and Walid Muhammad Mustafa Jadallah—are part of Hamas's investment network in Turkey. It was also noted that Nasr Allah has close ties with Iranian entities and is involved in transferring tens of millions of dollars to Hamas, with the department stating he resides in Qatar.
The State Department indicated that rewards will be offered in exchange for information about any source of revenue for Hamas, key donors, financial institutions facilitating Hamas transactions, front companies purchasing dual-use technology for Hamas, and criminal schemes that provide financial benefits to the group.
