At the invitation of the "Lebanese Press Syndicate," the "Lebanese Press Editors," and the "Lebanese Photographers," a solidarity vigil was held today, Thursday, in Martyrs' Square to "honor the blood of journalists and children in Lebanon and Palestine." During the vigil, Joseph Qassifi, the head of the Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate, stated: "Excuses do not create the criminal… If flattery falls silent, then blood has spoken… Does the graveyard hold too many victims? Justice is paralyzed, mute… The souls' trusts have been lost among the ruins… They have turned away, mocking the time and passing judgment… Two do not spare each other a moment… The specter of the victim and the guilty conscience…"
He added: "We gather today in Martyrs' Square, at the statue that represents them, not to weep and lament, but to honor the blood of journalists, photographers, and children in Lebanon and Palestine, who fell drenched in their innocence in one of the most heinous crimes in history, committed by the Zionist enemy with premeditation and intent. We are here to affirm our vow of loyalty to them and to declare that this act of genocide, which has not ceased since the establishment of the usurping entity, has become even more horrific and has expanded since October 7, and it must not go unpunished."
He continued: "The United Nations and the international community must break the silence, take action, and pressure to bring Israeli leaders before the International Criminal Court and condemn them for these massacres against civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon. How can we forgive Israel for executing the Shour sisters while they were still young, with no sin except trying to move to a safe area, fleeing from the brutal shelling of the border region that used incendiary shells to eliminate people, trees, and stones?"
