Meeting of the Chief Sheikh with a Hezbollah Delegation: Dialogue is the Only Way to Solve Challenges

During his meeting with a leadership delegation from Hezbollah, headed by the chairman of the political council, Mr. Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyed, at the Druze Community House in Beirut, Sheikh Sami Abi al-Muna, the Chief Sheikh of the Druze community, emphasized that "dialogue remains the only way to resolve all the challenges and crises threatening the country and the future of its children at the presidential, economic, and social levels." He affirmed that "the doors of the Druze Community House are open to all segments of Lebanese society, and our community will continue to play a unifying role, preserving the nation and its distinctive diversity and civilizational message."

After the meeting, Mr. Ibrahim al-Sayyed noted that "it is very natural when we meet with religious leaders of this level to consider it an opportunity to discuss the crises and challenges facing Lebanon, exchanging views and listening to their opinions and ideas regarding the current situation and the existing crises, as well as the solutions that Lebanese people should resort to in order to address what can be remedied to save this country."

Mr. al-Sayyed also mentioned that they "discussed the topic of homosexuality that has been raised and expressed our deep appreciation for the recent position issued by his eminence regarding this matter, which is of high responsibility and importance. These religious positions are primarily concerned with confronting the paths that seek to destroy morals and family in our society, and it is required that this stance be stronger than the rhetoric and positions being discussed by those groups."

The delegation conveyed to Sheikh Abi al-Muna the greetings and appreciation of Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Mr. Hassan Nasrallah. The meeting also covered the overall conditions in Lebanon and ways to halt the collapse of the state’s pillars and institutions, while preserving Lebanon's unique diversity and safeguarding community and moral values.
