Syrian President Bashar Assad spoke with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune about the political developments in the Arab arena, particularly in light of the visits made by several Arab officials to Syria, and the visits by Arab leaders to Oman and the United Arab Emirates. They discussed the issues raised in these meetings and their impact on Arab-Arab bilateral relations.
During the phone call, Assad thanked President Tebboune for the assistance provided by Algeria and its people to Syria in facing the aftermath of the earthquake, emphasizing that this support demonstrated significant solidarity and empathy with the Syrian people and reflected the deep ties between the two countries and their peoples.
Assad asserted that Algeria, which currently chairs the Arab summit, has historically shared positions on various issues that are very close to Syria’s stances, reflecting a long-standing common vision between the two countries.
For his part, Tebboune reaffirmed Algeria's continued support for Syria and its constant commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across various fields, as well as his country's readiness to develop economic cooperation for the benefit of both nations. Assad congratulated the Algerian people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
