The Turkish Ministry of Defense released videos today, showing its fighter jets destroying targets belonging to Kurdish militants in northern Syria. The ministry stated via the "X" platform that its pilots had destroyed PKK/YPG (Kurdistan Workers' Party and People's Protection Units) targets last night in the regions of Tel Rifaat, Cizire, and Derik.
The ministry also noted that a strong response was given by Turkish forces to a terrorist attack on their Dabık base in the Euphrates Shield Operation zone last night. During retaliatory strikes on terrorist targets in the region, 26 PKK/YPG militants were neutralized.
The footage showed moments when aircraft struck targets, including oil wells, shelters, and ammunition depots belonging to the Kurdish organization, which Ankara classifies as a terrorist group.
Additionally, Turkey reported today that one of its drones was lost during operations against Kurdish militants in northeastern Syria due to "various technical assessments" with third parties on the ground, adding that Ankara will continue to strike Kurdish militant targets in Syria and Iraq.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement indicating that it is working with relevant parties on the ground to improve the functioning of non-conflict mechanisms without mentioning a specific country. It also emphasized that the downing of its drone will not affect Ankara's military operations in the region.
