Nable Nierunga told British network Sky about his grandmother, "For us, we were just waiting for her to come out of the hospital. But unfortunately, we were told she had died."
The country's Minister of Health, Sylvia Masebo, visited the center, expressed her sympathy for the victims, and advised relatives not to attend the funerals of those who died from the illness.
Earlier, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema urged people to leave the cities and return to rural areas, where schools remain closed to prevent further spread.
