Saudi authorities announced the penalties for those found in Mecca and the holy sites during the Hajj season without prior permission. The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated in a press release: "The penalty for violators of Hajj regulations and instructions will be applied to anyone caught without a Hajj permit in the city of Mecca, the central area, the holy sites, and the Haramain train station in Al-Rusifah, as well as in security checkpoints and temporary security control centers, starting from 25/11/1445 AH until 14/12/1445 AH, corresponding to June 2, 2024, until June 20, 2024."

The statement emphasized that a fine of 10,000 riyals (approximately $2,660) will be imposed on violators of the Hajj systems and regulations without a permit, applicable to citizens, residents, and visitors found within the designated geographical area without a Hajj permit. Violators who are residents will be deported to their home countries and banned from entering the Kingdom according to specified legal durations.

It was also stressed that a doubled fine of 10,000 riyals will be applied in case of repeated offenses, highlighting the importance of adhering to Hajj regulations to ensure that guests of Allah can perform their rituals safely, securely, and comfortably.
