The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Monday: "As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking in various Lebanese areas, information was received by the leadership of the Al-Dahieh Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit regarding an unknown individual promoting drugs in the Al-Jnah area, in a 'Toyota' vehicle. On March 27, 2024, and as a result of investigations and surveillance, the vehicle was spotted in the 'Sultan Ibrahim' area - Al-Jnah. Immediately, a force from the detachment headed to the indicated location, seized the vehicle, and arrested the driver, identified as Q. H. (born in 1984, Palestinian).
During a search of him and the vehicle, a quantity of drugs was found, consisting of: /61/ plastic containers containing heroin, /4/ bags containing marijuana, and two bags containing hashish.
Upon interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the trafficking of drugs on behalf of another individual, who is currently being pursued. The vehicle was legally seized, and the detainee along with the confiscated items was transferred to the Central Anti-Drug Office in the Judicial Police Unit for legal action, based on the indication of the competent judiciary."
