The Lebanese Daily Weather page, a source specialized in meteorological conditions, has reported that this summer in Lebanon has been exceptional with unusual weather fluctuations. Despite high humidity in certain regions, especially the coastal areas, which intensified the heat, the temperatures overall remained typical. There were no extreme heat waves, instead, temperatures stayed mostly within or close to their seasonal averages.
According to the page's Facebook account: "What makes this summer peculiar is a rare low-pressure system affecting Lebanon and its surroundings during this time of the year, expected to impact from Friday to the end of the weekend."
The report highlights that temperatures will gradually decrease, falling below seasonal averages, alongside an increase in southwestern wind speeds, which will bring rain-laden clouds to the region, paving the way for thunderstorms and rain showers.
The optimal time for rainfall is predicted between Saturday afternoon and Sunday noon when the system reaches its peak, leading to intense rainfall, becoming torrential locally, particularly along the Syrian coastal strip and neighboring areas, as well as the northern regions, notably Akkar and Dinniyeh, then moving to the Lebanese coastal areas and adjacent seaside regions.
The page expects the rain to cover about 70% of Lebanon's area, with possible localized hail storms, and further temperature declines between Saturday and Sunday. The weather is set to become autumn-like cool at night and in the early morning hours, especially over mountainous heights.
