The Bahraini Parliament confirmed in a statement today, Thursday, the departure of the Israeli ambassador from Bahrain and the return of Bahrain's ambassador from Israel, along with the suspension of economic relations due to the war in Gaza. This decision comes nearly three years after the normalization of relations between Bahrain and Israel. The Bahraini Parliament announced today the departure of "the Israeli ambassador to the kingdom and the return of its ambassador to Israel." The council also declared, in a statement circulated by Bahraini media, the cessation of economic relations with Israel. The council emphasized that "Bahrain's historical position is steadfast in supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people." This decision follows nearly three years after the signing of the normalization agreement between Israel and Bahrain, following a similar agreement with its Gulf neighbor, the United Arab Emirates, as part of what has been dubbed the Abraham Accords. The official agency noted that Bahrain confirms the prioritization of efforts at this stage should focus on protecting civilians and creating humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to Gaza.
