British Grandmother Climbs Famous French Mountain to Support Gaza

An 82-year-old British grandmother participated in the challenge of climbing one of the most famous mountains in France on a bicycle as part of the Tour de France to raise funds for Gaza. Anne Jones, from Lewisham in South London, rode her bicycle for 20 kilometers up Mont Ventoux in southern France to support the Gaza appeal organized by the Amos Trust charity. She faced hail, rain, and fog during her six-hour ride to the summit of the mountain, which is 1,910 meters above sea level. Mrs. Jones was able to raise £13,000 for the campaign. She expressed that she is "happy" to have completed the challenge and hopes it will change the "assumptions" people make when they see an "elderly face."
