Kremlin Rejects Zelensky's Claims That Russia Wants to Escalate War in the Middle East

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated today, Tuesday, that "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's assertions that it is in Russia's interest to escalate the war in the Middle East to weaken global unity are unfounded." Peskov added, "Russia has long-standing historical relations with the Palestinians and shares many commonalities with Israel, such as the fact that many Israelis were formerly Russian citizens." He further mentioned, "Moscow intends to continue its diplomatic efforts and play a role in efforts to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians."
